The recipe I used for the croissants can be found at Dessert For Two. It's a small batch recipe so it only makes a a few croissants but that's what makes the recipe so approachable and it was an awesome Sunday treat for Michael and I.
You should check out her blog. Her photos are much nicer than mine (aren't everyone's though, I know you don't come here for the photography).

Haha. I've made three-day-process croissants and I would absolutely lose my shit if someone snuck a few without me being able to watch the pleasure they got from eating them. I bet your Mum worried for years about the therapy you guys were going to need over this "incident".
ReplyDeleteHaha, I think she thinks it's more funny than traumatic. We just use it as ammunition when she refuses to acknowledge that she's wrong ie. "You didn't think you were wrong about the croissants either...."
DeleteHilarious. I wasn't even around when this happened yet I still get to dine out on the story from time to time. Great to see you back in the cartooning business. Je suis Snoopy.
ReplyDeleteI would've pegged you as more of a Charlie Brown.
DeleteCruel but fair.
DeleteI love this and can see your Mums guilty face pa ha frootloops n pop tarts fix EVERYTHING I SAY...... X
ReplyDeleteTo this day I feel victorious and relieved whenever I have Froot Loops.
DeleteGOOD TO SEE U BLOGGING AGAIN!! Stacey Ann Downs Smith.
ReplyDeleteThank you Stacey! :)
DeleteYour Welcome! U have inspired me to make some croissants tomorrow for Superbowl Football Sunday Night! I love my bread , I have to workout everyday when eating bread lol!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! Let me know how they turn out. Actually my mum says that even though the recipe says to let them rise by double before baking, you should let them rise 3/4 and then start baking them in a cold oven, not preheated. She says the rising to double before baking could also have contributed to the yeasty taste.
DeleteNow surely my helping you make better croissants redeems my role in Croissant-Gate.
